On Saturday January 28, 2012 Citi invited the Wheelchair Sports Federation Sled Hockey Team to demonstrate the sport of Sled Hockey at Citi Pond at Bryant Park, NY.  Citi is a Proud Sponsor of the US Olympic and Paralympic Teams. Citi invited the team to Citi Pond to show their support for the upcoming 2012 Paralympic Games in London and disabled athletes. The demonstration included skating, shooting, passing and scoring.

After the demonstration, over a 100 children and adults, with and without disabilities, had the opportunity to try out the sleds by skating on the Citi Pond.  Suni Harford, Managing Director of Citi was quite impressed and had this to say about sled hockey and the public’s participation "It takes incredible strength and some real skill out there, it's terrific and they are giving a demonstration and letting people give it a try”.  Suni Harford and Citi concluded the day by presenting the Wheelchair Sports Federation with a $5,000 check to support their adaptive sport endeavors.
