MA Rehab Commission & Spaulding invite you to a special event with Boston Marathon Champ

Ernst van Dyk

To complete a one marathon is no easy task. But with nine Boston Marathon wins, Ernst van Dyk not just accomplished the unprecedented, he's made history. Ernst has won more titles than any other male athlete in the marathon's prestigious 115 year history.  A racing legend, Ernst has won marathons world wide and multiple medals at paralympics in both handcycling and wheelchair marathons, including gold in 2008 in Beijing.

Ernst was born in apartheid South Africa with a disability.  Doctors told his parents he would only face a lifetime of hardship. Rather than listen to what people told him he could not do, Ernst was raised to believe that anything was possible. Today, Ernst is a world-renowned athlete, advocate, and champion who is an inspiration to thousands across the globe.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Network in partnership with Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission is proud to present Ernst van Dyk at the Massachusetts State House on April 14th at 3:00pm in the Hall of Flags, in a special presentation, "Making History and Breaking Barriers".

In addition there will be a number of information tables featuring local organizations and agencies who serve the community with disabilities.
