34th Annual National Wheelchair Softball Championship

What:             National Wheelchair Softball Association (NWSA) has awarded New York City with hosting the 34th Annual Wheelchair Softball National Championship for 2010.

            Who:              15 to 20 Wheelchair Softball Teams from around the United States competing in a Double

Elimination Tournament for the Division 1 and 2 National Championships.  Teams consists of men, women and veterans with disabilities who compete in Sports Wheelchairs and use adapted American Softball Association (ASA) rules with a 16” Clincher Softball.

      Where:           Home of the NY Mets, Citi Field 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Flushing NY 11368 in Parking Lot E

             When:             Thursday August 19th, Friday August 20th and Saturday August 21st, 2010

 

    Host Hotel:     Crowne Plaza New York-LaGuardia Airport Hotel, 104-04 Ditmars Boulevard, East Elmhurst, NY 11369 - (718) 457-6300 - www.cplaguardia.com $119 per night per Double Occupancy Room

 Transportation: Shuttle Bus from LaGuardia Airport to Hotel provided.  Shuttle buses from Host Hotel to Fields (2 miles away) running every ½ hour.

 Schedule:        Thursday August 19th – Games begin at 9 am and end at 8 pm

                        Friday August 20th – Games begin at 9 am and end at 8 pm

                        Friday August 20th – Wheelchair Softball Clinic for Kids - 11 am to 1 pm

                        Saturday August 21st – Semifinals begin at 9 am and Championships start at 11 am

                        Saturday August 21st – Banquet at Citi Field Caesar’s Club at 7 pm
