The Columbus Reds Wheelchair Softball Team attended the 39th Annual Wheelchair Softball World Series in Biloxi, Mississippi from August 6th to 8th, 2015. The Reds won 5 and lost 2 for the week securing a Division 2 National Championship. The Championship game was won in the bottom of the 7th inning when the Reds were tied with the Kentucky Wheelcats 7 to 7 with two outs and a man on third base. Cole Anders came up to bat and hit a walk off double to left center field driving in the winning run. The Reds were honored to have every player in the outfield and half the players in the infield recognized as Division 2 all tournament players. The hot bat of Terry Boyd carried the team in several games and clutch situations as he was appropriately recognized with the best right fielder award and all tournament MVP.  The others were also recognized for all tournament positions including Cole Anders, left field as well as rookie of the year, James Terpenning, Rover, Joe Wittkamp, Centerfield, Korby Borders, 3rd Base, Gary Dwyer, Shortstop and Dave Anders, Pitcher. The Reds would like to thank John Hamre and the Wheelchair Sports Federation for their continued support that helped enable the Columbus Reds Wheelchair Softball Team to make it to Nationals this year.
