Wheelchair Sports Federation and NYC Parks & Recreation hosted the local Wheelchair Basketball Teams in the New York City and New Jersey areas on Tuesday February 10th, 2015 at the Al Oerter Recreation Center in Flushing Meadow Corona Park from 8 pm to 9:30 pm.  While the National Wheelchair Basketball Association All-Stars were traveling to NYC to play in the 17th Annual MBA/NWBA All-Star Wheelchair Classic in Brooklyn, NY, the area Adaptive athletes got together to show off their skills.

Representatives from the National Champion New York Rollin' Knicks, Bulova Nets, Brooklyn Nets, Nassau Kings Adult Wheelchair Basketball Teams competed as well as representatives from the two local Junior Wheelchair Basketball Teams, the New York Fury and Jr Brooklyn Nets.

These teams are part of the Eastern Wheelchair Basketball Conference (EWBC) and proudly continue the the 65 year legacy of Wheelchair Basketball that got its start with the help of returning World War II Veterans at the James J Peters Bronx VA.  Our local Adaptive Athletes look forward to seeing the great players coming to NYC for All-Star Weekend 2015.
