On Saturday Oct.15, the Wheelchair Sports Federation along with the National Spinal Cord Injury Association held their first wheelchair handcycling clinic. On a beautiful autumn day in Fort Totten, Queens a large number of the disabled community showed up to get a glimpse of what handcycling was all about. The turnout was larger than expected and consisted of people with various disabilities. Everyone had the opportunity to actually experience a little handcycling providing them with the sense of freedom the outdoors can provide. We hope everyone gained something from this event and had a great time as well. It was our goal to educate-motivate and empower all that attended. Much thanks to all the families and friends who showed up to support and help us in so many ways. A special thanks to Daniel Tratt and the members of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association for organizing & coordinating this event. Thanks to the National Spinal Cord Injury Association for providing the food and beverages for all. And last but not least, a note of graditude to William Hannigan, and all the members of the Wheelchair Sports Federation Handcycling team for sharing their expertise and assisting in this event. One of our goals is to help the disabled community obtain a better prospective into all wheelchair sports. Our goal is to help you reach your goal no matter what your level of your disability may be. If you have any questions or if you would like to hold a sports clinic in your community, please feel free to contact the Wheelchair Sports Federation. We will be more than happy to accommodate you in any way possible.
